Experience Henry Moore's iconic work at The Henry Moore Foundation studios and gardens in the Hertfordshire countryside! You'll discover the history and life of Henry Moore and is a great educational day out for the whole family.
The sculpture gardens contain Moore's famous sculptures and each year around twenty are displayed in the gardens, with many more found in the studios. The studios are located throughout the gardens and each are used for different activities and provide a glimpse into Moore's world.
The Top Studio was his primary workspace and was where he made small study models for developing sculptures, drawings and some of his most iconic carvings. The Ethiching Studio is a small room and was wear he used this space for experiments in printmaking. The Summer House was a space for drawings as it has plenty of natural light and the turntable could be rotated to change views. There's many more studios to explore too!
Henry Moore's home is also open for visitors after careful restoration. The house contained lots of artefacts, books and arts to explore and you can take a guided tour of the house too. Dont; forget to visit the Aisled Barn too as it's a 16th century farm building and is the only place in the world to see Moore's unique tapestries!
There is over 60 acres of woodland, gardens and meadows and you can meet the lambs and sheep that inspired Moore too! Grab some actvitity sheets and set out on your adventures and discover more about Henry Moore!

There is a cafe offerings teas and coffees and lots of outdoor picnic areas.
Any top tips when visiting?
The sculptures can be more delicate than they look, so please be careful, especially if you are wearing jewellery.
Does The Henry Moore Foundation have a gift shop?
The gift shop stocks a range of Henry Moore inspired products, with designs you won’t find anywhere else.
Teachers corner
They offer school visits with guided tours from Year three and upwards.
Is The Henry Moore Foundation fully accessible?
Some of the studios and galleries are accessed via a small step. They have portable ramps for each space to allow access.
