The Museum of Harlow is a historic place with over 1000 years of history! The gallery spaces highlight the history of Harlow from the Iron Age to the present day and it's also home to three historical gardens!
There are so many exhibitions to discover! Learn the treasures excavated from the Roman Temple and how Romans lived in Harlow and discover the earliest traces of Harlow through fossils. Explore the gfive parishes that made up the land of Harlow too!
On displays is the John Collins Cycle collection, with over 40 cycles on displays from the first bicycles made in England to some rare ones too. You can also learn about Harlow's development after World War Two including the industry and green spaces.
The walled gardens are set in two acres of green space and divided into three gardens. There is the unusual fruit garden, the 17th century garden and the peace garden which are all great areas to take a picnic!
The sculpture towen trails continues through the gardens and museum too so make sure to check this out. Don't forget to keep an eye on the website as there are lots of activities and events for the whole family to get involved in.
There are two train stations in Harlow – Harlow Mill and Harlow New Town. The closest station to the museum is Harlow Mill. The nearest bus stop is on First Avenue

Harlow Museum offers a wide range of bespoke and collaborative learning opportunities for all ages.
The museum and the gardens are both suitable for wheelchair visitors, however please note that some pathways in the gardens are shingle surfaced.
