About this activity

Audley End House and Park is a Jacobean house set in a serpentine park. Explore the spacious grounds and estates and see the servant's wing, state rooms, kitchen gardens and discover what life was like in this Victorian country house. 

Step inside the house and admire th interiors and discover the history through the great hall, dressing rooms and library, you can even play on their piano! They also have the state bed, which is one of the most important surviving 18th century beds in the country. 

Once you've explored the house take a stroll around the gardens! You'll enjoy extensive views and see the serpentine llike too. Every time you visit, the seasons bring something new to the grounds!

There are acres of parklands to explore too. Spot the wildlife, ancient trees and play hide and seek as you weave through the woodlands!

On selected weekends you meet the costumed interpreters that back the house to life! Watch them prepare meals for the family, see them groom the horses and watch as they tend to the gardens. Make sure to keep an eye on the website so you know when these experience days are! 

They do have resident horses too. you can dress up like a stable workers and find out the story of the estate and see the horses in action as there are regular riding displays throughout the day too!

Unable to access the first floor in the house without negotiating stairs. Level access to toilets and shop. Restaurants have ramped access to tearooms.
