Knebworth House Gardens and Park has everything you need for a great family day out. Explore the gardens, house and even head to the adventure playground and tackle the obstacles and slides, there's so much to do and discover at Knebworth House!
The house itself has stood for many years and was the home of the novelist Sir Edward Bulwer Lytton. It has 500 years of history just waiting to be discovered and tours are included with your admission ticket. Every generation that has lived here has left something of style and has even had visits from the likes of Charles Dickens, Winston Churchill and even Liam Gallagher!
The gardens are a must visit no matter the season! It has 28 acres of gardens, which includs a maze, fine trees, wilderness and even a dinosaur trail! The gardens have been here since the 17th century and the current layout dates from the Edwardian era.
Each generation has enhanced the gardens with some intriguing wood carvings, so don't forget to hunt for them!
For young visitors, the Dinosaur Trail is a must! It's set in the wildnerness garden and has 72 life-sized dinosaurs and pre-historic creatures grazing. Learn more about the T-Rex and Wooly Mammoth by looking at the information boards. There's also a huge chalk-board for you to create your own cave man drawings! And a sound box to test our your dinosaur roars!
The adventure playground has astro and drop slides, swings, slifes and a zip-wire! Try the interactive water play and scale the climbing equipment too!
Knebworth House & Park are accessed direct from the Junction 7 roundabout of the A1(M) motorway at Stevenage South, 29 miles north of London. There are signs on both carriageways of the motorway. Plenty of free parking for cars and coaches.
