Royston Museum will allow you to discover over 2000 years of Royston stories and history, all under one roof! The main exhibition hall displays history about the Romans, local industry, the Victorians and the World Wars and town recreation.
On your visit you'll explore the history of the area from prehistoric times through to the present day! From Stone Age axe heads to farming equipment and Second World Ware helemts and Rubik's cube, there are a variety of objects that all have a story to tell.
Every two weeks, they run toddler music and dance workshops for children and regular craft workshops during the school holidays. They also work with older children on community projects which help young people to create their own artwork and displays. The upstairs art gallery showcases local artists too, so make sure you check the area out and keep coming back to see the new talent on display.
Currently they are taking part in the Royston Tapestry. It records Royston's history on continuous 25 metre long piece of linen so make sure you give it a visit to see how far it is coming along!
They also have lots of temporary exhibits too over the school holidays, where you can take part in lots of hands on activities.
Make sure to check the website before you visit so you know what's happening when and where!
