Did you know that Capel Manor Gardens was first established all the way back in the late 13th century, and today makes for an amazing family day out in nature!

Here you can enjoy exploring 40 colourful gardens set across 30 acres, PLUS there are some friendly faces waiting to say hi! But first, let's explore some of the gardens you can find!

If you love history, then the historic Walled Garden and Old Manor House Garden is a wonderful place to start! A highlight of Capel Manor Gardens is always the traditional 17th century gardens! Kids, you can just imagine what it would have been like strolling the gardens all those centuries ago.

You can explore all of the 4 seasons too, from the spring bulbs in the Alpine House, to the fragrant flowering winter shrubs, and aromatic summer roses!

Embrace some royalty in the Queen Mother's Garden was created to mark her very special 100th birthday, as well as the Diana Legacy Rose Garden which features beautiful roses associated with the late princess.

Capel Manor Gardens also has plenty of special kid-tastic gardens and experiences too! They always love the enchanted Fairy Forest walk through a special woodland area, and the Holly Maze is always a treat!

Now, we mentioned friendly faces! We were talking about the amazing mini zoo featuring animals from all over the world - 75 different species in fact!

Kids can come face to face with adorable wallabies, learn what a Patagonian Mara looks like, and even get hands on in the Pygmy Goat Experience!

With Alpaca walks too, it's no wonder Capel Manor Gardens is a super fun way to enjoy a family day out!

Situated off junction 25 on the M25, Capel Manor Gardens is easy to get to by car, public transport or by bike. They have free car parking available on site for visitors.

If you are travelling by train, Turkey Street station is a 15 minute walk away from Capel Manor Gardens. If you are travelling by bus, then buses 217 and 317 stop at the gardens!

Capel Manor Gardens FAQ’s

There are milk warming available in the cafe on request.

The delicious café on-site is open daily from 10am to 4pm (hot food is available between 12pm and 2pm on weekdays).

You can enjoy seasonal homemade hot meals and sandwiches, plus children’s meals, and a range of cold foods to eat on the go!

If you're feeling extra hungry you can tuck into snacks plus delicious cakes and ice creams!

Check out the events on the website so you can put them in your diary and not miss out, from seasonal themed trails to super exciting annual shows!

There is a Garden Gift Shop which is the perfect place to buy a memorable gift or souvenir, including children’s toys, plants, gifts and homeware.

The Gardens are ideal for school visits to help bring your teaching to life! You can choose from either a self-led tour or book an educational session for a more hands-on curriculum activity with one of their school visit leaders.

Disabled access toilets and baby changing facilities available.

Most of the show gardens are on one level with step-free access. Pathways are mainly compacted gravel, tarmac or stone and are suitable for mobility scooters and wheelchair users.

On wet days, some grass and earth paths may be unsuitable for mobility equipment. There are accessible toilet facilities across the estate.

One carer is admitted free of charge with each visitor whose disability necessitates a carer

You can loan wheelchairs and mobility scooters for your visit. A £5 deposit for mobility scooters is required and refunded upon its return in good condition. Just let them know in advance if you wish to reserve one in order to avoid disappointment.
