About this activity

The Cambridge University Botanic Garden is an amazing place for families to visit who love that nature-filled day, as it's here you can explore their  collection which houses over 8,000 plant species from all over the world!

The aim of the gardens and the collection is to facilitate teaching and research, so you know your kids are in great hands, and ready for a day of nature, colours, wildlife and education!

Since its foundation, the Garden has become a beautiful place for families of all ages to enjoy and benefit from, through a series of wonderful landscapes where you can discover the drama of plant diversity.

As you make your way around the Cambridge University Botanic Garden, kids can explore the different Garden sections - from tropical glasshouses to British wild flowers.

They can learn all about Dry Gardens, filled with water-wise planting and drought-tolerant planting inspiration. You might want to take a photo at the fountain, a beautiful centrepiece of the gardens.

The Glasshouse Range is filled with everything from delicate alpines to exotic tropicals, which are always fun to see. Then you have the super fun Grass Maze which offers playful planting for all ages to enjoy!

With so many things to do, see and learn, the Cambridge University Botanic Garden is a great family day out for all!
