Howard Park and Gardens is a large park in the heart of Letchworth, surrounded by trees, gardens and more and is the perfect space to have a run around, go for a brisk walk and have a picnic too!
The park was created over 100 years ago as a central part of the world's first garden city. The park and gardens are divided by a road with a formal garden area and bowling green on one side and on the other side a paddling pool, play areas and more!
The large green space is a great area to have a picnic and some family fun. During the summer months, there is a paddling pool and splash fountains that the children will enjoy running in and out of! Remember to check the weather before you go though!
There is a refreshment kiosk too selling light snacks and drinks if you're feeling hungry too, and plenty of seating area to relax!
Go on a heritage hunt and see what you spot! There are wetland habitats, plaques, markers and bridges to hunt out and the treasure map is great for getting children to use their senses and explore nature that little bit further!
There is a stature of Sappoho and other memorials around the park too, so make sure to bring your camera and snap some photos!
