Dalkeith Country Estate has 1,000 acres of history and walks and adventure waiting to be explored. And it's just a few miles from Edinburgh too! There is something for everyone whether you want to play in the adventure park, go for a relaxing stroll or do a spot of shopping!
At the park you'll find the Fort Douglas Adventure Park. Kids will be able to climb and slide through tunnels, towers and treehouses and burn off some energy!
There's even dedicated toddler zones for the little ones, jumping pillows and ziplines and it's suitable for chidren ages up to twelve years.
You'll need to book tickets for the adventure park and places book up quickly during peak times, so make sure to book before you get there!
tThe esta is also home to one of only three Go Ape locations in Soctland too, with incredible ziplines that span across the River Esk.
Go Ape is perfect for those looking for some thrilling adventures as you climb the sky-high platforms, zoom down the ziplines and head into the trees for your treetop adventure. There's a number of different course for all abilities and ages and is a great thing to do to get the whole family involved.
There are a number of family friendly trails too with many different terrains. You'll take in the stunning views on your way round and maybe even spot some of the wildlife that call this place their home.
You'll be able to download the maps of all trails before you go and no matter what season you decide to visit there's always something new and colourful to explore.
The Park entrance is less than five minutes from Edinburgh City By-pass. The main vehicle entrance is King’s Gate, a left turn shortly after Sheriffhall Roundabout on the A6106.
