A visit to this popular Edinburgh attraction gives families and kids a chance to experience the forces of nature as they shaped the planet, as well as take you on a journey through space and time as well as around the world!
Kids will be be embarking on an interactive adventure of a lifetime (yes, we mean the lifetime of the planet!)
There are so many exhibits within Dynamic Earth, each one with its own theme and learning experience. Kids might be travelling back to the beginning of time one minute, before watching the big bang first hand!
You might prefer to rocket through the universe in a super cool spaceship where you'll be travelling billions of times faster than the speed of light! Have you ever wanted to see stars explode the other side of the galaxy? It's all at Dynamic Earth!
Kids can feel the ground shudder as volcanoes erupt and throw clouds of ash and gas into the atmosphere. Get up close to the Polar ice caps where you can actually have a chance to touch an iceberg for yourself!
Marvel at the Aurora Borealis, fly high above glaciers, and meet Scotland’s pioneers of marine science! Dive to the depths of the sea, and witness incredible habitats that you might never know about!

Located at the bottom of Holyrood Road, neighbouring the Scottish Parliament and the Palace of Holyrood House, Dynamic Earth is an approximately 15-minute walk from the city center (Princes Street).
The Dynamic Earth 24 hour car park is located underneath the building, for which charges do apply

Have a look at the Planetarium show times ahead of time so you can plan your visit around that! You can purchase tickets to just the Planetarium if you like.
The Natural Selection Gift Shop is a great place to end your visit, where you can pick up books, toys, educational pieces and items on conservation to take home!
Dynamic Earth Learning and Engagement offers a programme indoor, outdoor and online workshop experiences for pupils from 3 to 18 years of age. They also offer outdoor learning and planetarium visits too!
Disabled toilets, baby change areas.
Dynamic Earth is fully wheelchair accessible, with ramp access up to the entrance of the building and lifts throughout to navigate through the exhibition, and to gain access to and from the car park. Wheelchair access to the car park is via the internal lifts only.
Please be aware these lifts are operational only during opening hour
