Yellowcraig is a spectaular natural cover beach with stunning views! Take the whole family to the beach when the weather is nice and spend your day lazying on the sands or playing in the shallow water.
The beach provides views over the 1885 lighthouse on Fidra Island which is said to be the inspiration for the book, Treasure Island!
The beach is hugely popular with families as it has an adventure playpark and a huge network of nature trails to follow too, with lots of terrains.
The woodlands provides a great chance to explore the habitat and wildlife too. On your way round you'll see a piece of sculpture which has been designed with the local people.
It represents the dispersal of seeds and as the years pass, the sculpture will change and then be reclaimed by the environment. See if you can spot it!
In the Summer, you'll see the colourful orchids and low grasslands and seabirds. Autumn brings the turning of the leaves so no matter when you visit there's always something different to spot.
The beach is also a great spot for a BBQ or picnic too!
Bring your buckets and spades and set up on the beach for a great time outdoors. Make sure to check the weather before you go!
