About this activity

Discover The Royal Yacht Britannia's fascinating story as you explore each of the five decks and imagine what life was like during Royal service on the boat. It's just two miles from Edinburgh's city centre and provides a fun day out for all ages.

The yacht has been a Royal residence for over 40 years and has made over 968 state visits with the Royal Family. Each of the five decks can be explored and you'll get a free audio guide too!

Imagine yourself as the captain of the ship in the bridge and follow in the footsteps of Royalty through the state apartments.

Explore the Queen's favourite room and discover the crew's quarters below the deck. You can also take a peak inside the engine room too and finish your trip in the royal deck for some light refreshments.

As well as the ship, there's lots of activities and events on the boat itself! Take part in the corgi treasure hunt as you try and spot Clarence and his friends hiding all over the boat. During Easter they have lots to keep the family entertained too!

If you wanted to extend your trip, why not stay aboard?!

The luxury floating hotel is a world-class experience with beautiful cabins for an indulgent and rich maritime heritage experience.

Did you know that all clocks on board remain stopped at 3:01pm too? It marks the exact time HM Queen Elizabeth II was piped ashore for the final time.
