Baby changing facilities are available and our galleries are accessible via lifts and ramps.
They recommend entering via the Tower entrance if using buggies or wheelchairs, as the lifts up from the Chambers Street entrance can be busy.
There are a number of places you can grab something to eat! The Balcony Café and Museum Kitchen are both great for home baking, snacks, soup, sandwiches, salads and children's lunch boxes.
The museum often have great events such as highlights tours, speakers, and the Edinburgh Science Festival so make sure you check out what's on before you go so you can plan accordingly and not miss out!
There are multiple shops! You'll find shops on levels 0, 1 and 3, all offering unique souvenirs and gifts, with an extensive range of Scottish crafts, jewellery and collections-themed products plus toys and books!
The museum is a brilliant place to bring students! They can learn about the natural world, world cultures, science, technology, design, art and fashion, archaeology and Scottish history – whatever your topic, bring your class on a visit and they can find out more!
