Leigh Heritage Centre is a fascinating wealth of local historical artefacts and memorabilia that provides education for visitors year round! The heritage centre stands in the centre of the old town in the old Smithy. 

Over the years, the building has been owned by several people and had lots of different uses! It's now home to a photo display tracking Leigh's local history and a treasure trove for all connected to Leigh-on-Sea. 

The centre is open most days, but make sure you phone first before visiting! 

Entry to the centre and plumbs cottage is free too, but they welcome donations that go towards their hard work! 

They welcome many school groups throughout the year, and you'll be give a slide show about Leigh and explain the items in the Heritage Centre for an educational day out. Get in touch with them to see how they can make your visit special.
