Wat Tyler Country Park

About this activity

Wat Tyler Country Park covers an area of 125 acres and there is plenty of country walks, wildlife and play for the whole family! It's near Basildon in Essex and only 40 minutes by train from the heart of London. 

The children's adventure park featuring a running wheel, zip wires and a spinning disc along with swings and slides and much more! There is also a miniature railway which runs close to the park and in the holidays there is a bouncy castle on the green too! 

The path around the perimeter of the park is a great relaxing walk and it takes you up and down over grass and woodlands too! And you won't get muddy! The WWII trail is up a muddy creek from one of wartime Britain's most important oil refineries, the Wat Tyler. 

There is also a sculpture trail which takes you around the park and the explosives trail which takes you back to the days of dynamite! There are illustrated signts too to help you discover the history. 

They also offer night time walks around the park and buggy walks where the whole family can get outside and make new friends.
