Layer Marney Tower is a great place to visit whether you are planning to exhaust the children in the play area or enjoy the tranquility of the garden! The tower is England's tallest Tudor Gatehouse and stands within the Essex landscape with views across the River Blackwater. 

The tower has over 500 years of history and stories to tell. You can explore the gatehouse, church, wander the grounds and see the few animals on the farm.

View the archietecture and collections in the gatehouse with exhibitions that all tell a story or head out on a guided tour too where you'll be ataught lots of fascinating history! 

For parents with young children, they have a forest school for young children to learn all about nature and get up close! 

They also run outdoor activity days in the 120 acres of countryside and has a whole range of activities including archery, kayaking, wall climbing, raft building and so much more.
