About this activity
Get ready to some adventures with the whole family at the aptly named Adventure Island! In fact, Adventure Island is something of an icon in Southend.
What's great about this family day out is that it's FREE entry into the park itself, then you pay and play (or pick up an all-ride day wristband) so you can enjoy as much or as little as you like!
Located on the beautiful seafront, dominating the skyline you can choose from over 40 rides and attractions which offer thrills, spills, and kiddie rides for all bravery levels and ages.
Take in the views on the City Wheel, or spin, swing and belly-scream your way around the sky on the Axis!
There are rides to use gravity against you, rides to turn you upside down, and rides that will DROP!
On those warmer days, Adventure Island has unforgettable water fun from the fast moving water slide to the Green Terror Tube!
For those little ones in the family, don't worry there are kiddie sized rides too, from the charming pirate ship (arrr me harties!) to Mini AdventureVille and the light-hearted cartoon themed frolic of Spooksville!
If that wasn't enough, Adventure Island also feature fun Prize Arcades where you can try and win something to take home, as well as plenty of cafes and restaurants to fill those rumbling tummies!
Don't forget about the many sideshows and games too!

Directions
From the M25, take either Junction 29 (A127) or Junction 30 (A13) eastwards, towards Southend on Sea. As you approach the town, look for the brown tourist road signs – Adventure Island is clearly marked on these – and follow them to the seafront.
If water is sloshing around your feet, you’ve gone too far!

From candy floss to fried chicken, hot dogs to fish & chips, pancakes to pizzas, there are plenty of menus to suit every taste. You definitely won’t go home hungry! It's a good idea to book your meals in advance online to unlock fantastic deals at many of the park’s outlets.
Ride for free if you’re aged 14+ and accompanying a guest under 120cm!
There are ladies' and gents' toilets with wheelchair accessible toilets and baby changing facilities at the far west end of the park under Southend Radio, under the entrance slope on the east side of the park (adjacent to the Green Scream), and at the far east end of the park by the Jungle Jive Cafe.

They offer an allergen food guide to help you with any dietary requirements you might have
They want EVERYONE to be able to enjoy Adventure Island, so they have installed dedicated wheelchair access points via the entrance to Adventure Inside. Also, all entrances to the park are step-free, as are the entrances to most rides.
