Southend Pier and Train is the longest pier in the world and has lots of things to do, including their train that takes you all the way along it!
The pier is a treasured iconic and stretches for 1.33 miles out into the sea! There's plenty to do all year round. Join in crazy golf on the world's longest pier on the 18 hole course!
You'll need to collect the clubs and balls from the ice-cream hut next to the golf course to play.
You can also uncover the history of the iconic landmark in the museum. They have an original 1890 tram and carriages, pictures and penny slot machines and lots more that will bring back fond memories with the older generations.
Take a ride on the railway too! Trains run on a half hour basis and is a 3ft narrow guage railway that runs along the length of the pier, allowing transport to the bottom. The train travels at around 8mph and you'll get spectacular views all around.
Make sure to wave at people as you go past them!
The A127 (from North) and A13 (from South) link Southend to the M25.
Once in Southend, numerous brown tourist signs direct you towards the seafront and the Pier.

Walking the length of Southend Pier can work up quite an appetite,
but once you're at the Pier Head there's plenty of places to refresh and refuel!
There are three entry points onto Southend Pier, all with step free access. The west entrance has ramp access for wheelchairs and automatic doors. The east entrance has step free level access with push/pull doors. The upper walkway level entrance has step free level access from Pier Hill and has a ramp access down onto the Pier walkway.
