Thorndon Country Park contains colourful woodlands, wildlife, parklands and trails for the perfect family day out for nature loves and families. Whether you want a gentle stroll or a run about, there's lots to do.

The park has received a Green Flag Award and has over 500 acres of diverse habitats. At Thorndon North, there are tranquil woodlands which surround the Childerditch pong which attracts many migrant birds and in Spring, it's filled with scent and colours!

In this area you'll find the Gruffalo trail which starts here. Just pick up a trail in the centre for a small fee before you start and see if you can spot all of the characters.

There is an activity centre located near the main car park and offers a range of bikes and equipment for the family to hire if you wanted to explore on two wheels!

Thorndon South is open parkland where you can enjoy a picnic and take in the views of the countryside. Why not fly a kite or bring a frisbee?!
