Danbury Commons is Essex's second largest area of common land and features ancient woodlands, wildlife and views from Danbury ridge, the highest point in Essex.
The park offers a diverse natural environment with plenty of wildlife to flourish. The rangers work all year round to encourage mammals, birds, reptiles and plenty of other animals. You'll find nightingales, dormice and even adders have made an appearance too!
There are plenty of trails and walks too. There is an easy 1.5 mile walk through the wetlands and open healthland from Danbury Common to Lingwood Common which is great for families. For those looking for a longer walks, there's a 3.5 mile circular walks taking you from Lingwood Common to Blakes Wood.
Blakes Wood is an anciet working woodland with seasonal flowers and woodlands, a great place to play hide and seek!
Why not bring a picnic wth you and relax? It's a great chance to reconnect with nature and get outside in the great outdoors!
