About this activity

East Anglian Railway Museum is a family-friendly working museum, dedicated to preserving the history of railways in East Anglia. The buildings, trains and working signal boxes all tell a story of a time when the railway was the largest employers in the region.

The Good Shed dates back to Victorian times and is the centre of the museum. It's got original railway memorabilia for you to take a trip down memory lane. The restoration shed has vintage trains and you can see the current restoration work being take by the volunteers.

It's open most days and you back observe the enginners bringing the trains back to life, so be careful when you're walking around!

The heritage centre is an indoor exhibition with different displays. There are interactive signal panels, exhibits, button telephones and much more for an interactive experience.

There is a miniature railway next to the kids playground. There are two locomotives, steam engine and electric train too.

They have lots of regular events and activities throughout the year, including their steam days! Make sure you check out the website before you visit so you know what's happening.
