Choo choo, all aboard! It's time to enjoy some locomotive fun at Summerfields Miniature Railways! This hidden Bedfordshire gem is run by the Bedford Model Engineering Society, and adults and children alike can enjoy the fun of locomotives - from not only learning all about them, but riding them as well!
Summerfields Miniature Railways are home to three different gauges of track on the Summerfields site, which means that you can often see small trains running as well much larger ones too!
The Summerfield Line is the most popular route and will take you between Haynes End Station and Hammer Hill Station.
At Hammer Hill you will have the option of taking a ride on two more of the railways - The Springfield Line or The Winterfield Line. Why not change it up and try both!
If you don't fancy taking a ride or have enjoy many and need a rest, the picnic area at Hammer Hill is a great spot from where you can watch the Garden Line in operation!
Want to hear something really fun? At Summerfields Miniature Railways, steam engines will also be in action as often as they are able!
So whether you have smaller kids in the family who will get excited at seeing and hearing these amazing minature trails operating in full force, or older kids who love the "how does it work" elements of transporation, there is something for everyone at Summerfields!
Located on the SW side of the A600 between Haynes and Bedford; the site is approximately halfway between Bedford and Hitchin.
