The Ampthill Spy Mission Treasure Trail starts in Ampthill Park, once frequented by King Henry V111 during the 15th century when he visited Ampthill Castle! It leads you through parkland, along the footpaths and quaint historic streets of Ampthill, solving clues on the way.
The Trail visits St Andrew's Church, an iron stone building, dating back to the 12th century, and the majestic Queen Katherine of Aragon Cross, at the site of Ampthill Castle.
The Trail is three miles long, and takes about two hours to complete. Ampthill Park is an ideal picnic area, there is a well equipped play area for children, a perfect Trail for dog walkers! There are numerous pubs and cafes providing refreshment on the route.
If you want to take in the pretty local area, have fun, and learn about its rich past, this little adventure is the perfect thing for you!
Ampthill Park is easily accessible from M1 junction 13 and Bedford / Luton on the A6, via the A 507 Woburn Road.
