Golden Gate Boat Trips offers boat trips you'll always remember! Explore Grace Darling's Lighthouse on Longstone Island, the Inner Farne Bird Sanctuary and Staple Island Bird Sanctuary; each of these trips offers remarkable sights, and you can even see grey seals! As well as this, there's often puffins and shags about.
The Farne Island's lighthouse keeper George gives a faboluous tour of Europe's largest offshore bird sanctuary. It's the ONLY boat allowed to land on Longstone and the ONLY boat allowed to tour The Longstone Lighthouse, so you won't find this amazing experience elsewhere.
The Inner Farne Bird Sanctuary is the largest of the Farne Islands Group. It was there that St. Cuthbert died in 687 A.D, and there is a tiny chapel to be found on this island with lots of history to hear about. The tour includes cruising around the islands to view the nesting seabirds and visiting the Grey Seal Colony.
Golden Gate trips now offer an all day excursion; this is most suitable for d local history enthusiasts, and it allows more time for the expert to observe the birds closely. This excursion is usually a two island trip, landing on Staple and Inner Farne. However, it can be adapted to include Longstone Island, which has a free landing and includes a tour inside Grace Darling's Lighthouse!
