Ferry Meadows Railway is a minature railway set in the stunning Ferry Meadows country park! It takes you from one part of the park to the other and has been operating to the public since 1978.
Over the years the railway has seen many changes, but it's always been a firm favourite with families! The track is laid to a 10.1/4 inch guage and gives stability and is comfortable for all passengers.
Take in the views of Overton and Lynch Lakes as you ride across the park. The carriages include a wheelchair coach too, which allows people to ride the train whilst remaning in their wheelchairs.
You can buy all day wrist bands too, so you're free to ride the train as many times as you like! Make sure to give the visitors a wave too as you ride along!
Don't forget, Ferry Meadows has a whole range of activities too!
You can walk the many trails from around the lake to Bluebell Woods, take part in some water sports on the lake and look out for the wildlife. There are also lots of events all year round and play parks for the little ones to run around in.
Ferry Meadows lies three miles west of Peterborough and just two miles east of the A1. On all major routes into the city, look for and follow the brown tourist attraction signs for NENE PARK or the country park symbol. Ferry Meadows is signed on Oundle Road (A605).
