Caernarfon Castle is one of the most impressive castles in the UK, and makes a great family day out for history lovers and kids!
In fact, did you know that Caernarfon Castle is actually recognised worldwide as one of the greatest buildings of the Middle Ages? Pretty impressive!
Caernarfon Castle is a fortress-palace on the banks of the River Seiont, built by Edward I and his military architect Master James of St George. In fact, not only did they erect Caernarfon Castle but also the town walls and a quay - all at the same time!
During your time at Caernarfon Castle, you can learn all about Edward I, and how this structure was born out of a bitter war with Welsh princes. Scandal!
At Caernarfon Castle there is 700 years of history to explore, and this impressive structure continues to stir the imagination like no other Welsh castle! The turrets and walls are so much fun for kids to explore, and don't miss stopping by the Royal Welsh Fusiliers Museum, found within the castle and your entry is included in your castle admission ticket!
