About this activity

Plas Newydd is an enchanting mansion and gardens with views of Snowdonia! There's lots of things to see and do both with regular exhibitions to discover as well with the whole family.

The house itself is home to Rex Whistker's famous 58-foot mural and numerous works of art and is a family home enjoying some amazing views. In total there are 40 acres of gardens and 129 acres of woodland and parklands to enjoy!

The mild conditions of the garden allows a wide range of plants to thrive! From magnolias to rare souther hemisphere speciments in the Arboretum. You'll find tulips in March and dhalias in October and changing colours through the season, so whenever you visit it'll be new!

The West Indies is an expansive lawn with a treehouse, which is a great hiding spot to try and spot the red squirrels which are found here! The Arboretum contains many unusual plants which bloom throughout the year, and enjoys views across Snowdnoia.

Take a walk around the garden to find a world of plants and trees and also secluded spots too! There are two hides along the Menai Strait where you can watch the birds and observe the wildlife. Make sure to ask the staff about the walking trails too as they have some great tips.

There are a number of trails for all abilities and lengths offering fun for the whole family. There's an adventure playground too where the little ones can burn off some energy, before heading to the cafe for some refreshments.
