About Coed y Brenin Forest Park

Coed y Brenin Forest Park offers visitors of all ages total woodland experience within the heart of Snowdonia National Park. There's a variety of trails for all abilities, bike trails, family walks and so much more!

Start your trip at the visitor centre which will provide the starting point for a range of walking, running and biking trails. There's also a cafe and bike shop too if you need a break or need to hire some equipment for your exploration.

There's a forest garden too within the park which is home to trees from all over the world and you'll find some interesting facts too on the signs! The discovery trail is around half a mile so it's great if you want a gentle stroll. You can visit the viewpoint and then meander along a series of informal paths.

There are so many walking trails that are waymarked right from the car park too. The King's Guard Trail is in the blue waymarkers and is accessible too! You'll see the biggest trees in the whole of the park and it's a well surfaced 2m wide route which is suitable for wheelchairs and rest stops every 100 metres.

The Kings Champion Trail is in the yellow waymarkers and is a flat, family friendly riverside walk. You walk to the king which is the tree with the widest trunt and the king's champion which is the tallest tree, and you'll get to visit the commemorative stone too.

You can download an audio trail and listen to the history of the park too and learn all about how the forest was created!
