About this activity

Welsh Mountain Zoo was born as a small family run business in 1963, now it is the most well known and established zoo in Wales! There's around 37 acres of green landscape and overloops Colwyn Bay coastline and mountains. There's around 100 species of animals on display and over eight million visitors have come to the zoo!

The main attraction are the big cats! From Sumatran Tigers, Snow Leopards and Margay, they roam and prowl the gates and their enclosures replicate the varied landscapes of Asia, South America and the Himalyas. You'll also find a variety of primates too. From chimpanzees, spider monkeys, gibbons and lemurs, watch out as they socialise with each other and admire their climbing skills!

There's also other mammals too, including the Eurasian Brown Bear, Bactarian Camel and the cutest little Red Panda and the mischievous meerkats too! Theres also a vast collection of birds too which all come from different environments, from the icy waters to the shallow stores. They also have a free flying bid fdisplay where you can get up close to them too.

They also have a childrens farm with fun and furry animals. Children can see chickens, ducks, rabbits and more and give young animal lovers a chance to see farm animals in their own environment too.

Make sure to check out their schedule as they have regular talks and feeding times that are an interest to watch and observe!
