About this activity

Beaumaris Castle is in fact considered a fortress of near-perfect symmetry, as well as an unfinished masterpiece, all on the Isle of Anglesey.

So why not visit to learn all about this fascinating history, and discover why it was never finished, and the story behind it's symmetrical perfection?

Beaumaris is actually famous as the greatest castle never built. But why was it never built? Beaumaris was the last of the royal strongholds that were built by Edward I, and is this his masterpiece?

Edward and his architect James of St George wanted this  to be their crowning glory - the castle to end all castles!

Beaumaris is a beautiful place to spend the day as a family, and kids can learn all about this incredible (and unfinished!) architectural feat.

Take a picnic, visit the gift shop, and just take in the beauty of the castle and the area!
