Beck Isle Museum is a beautiful museum in the small market town of Pickering and you'll explore what life was like in this thriving market town years ago. Visit the shops from the past, discover ancient acrafts and see the printing press in motion, there's lots on display and to do for the whole family. 

There are lots of activities all year round too. They have a working forge at the museum and you can watch the volunteers blacksmithing most Mondays and Fridays on their demonstration days.

There's plenty more seasonal events too so make sure to visit the website before you head here so you know what's happening. 

On display there are a variety of fascinating objects and collections. 

The museums looks after around 50,000 items including tools, costumes, photos and much more.

The museum is a great museum for schools too as they can provide trails and workshops to suit what you need. You can step back in time and imagine what life was like and spend the morning of afterlookg exploring the museum. 

They offer workshops to explore old toys, traditional crafts and even butter making! There's lots to choose from to make you visit one to remember.

From York take the A64 towards Malton take the A169/B1257 exit towards Whitby/Pickering/Malton and at the roundabout take the first exit onto the A169.

From Scarborough take the A170 to Pickering.

There is limited car parking available onsite. There are also several pay and display car parks a short walk from the museum.

Whether you’re visiting the museum or just want somewhere different to shop you’ll find a wonderful range of unique gifts and locally made products to choose from.

They offer lots of workshops and visits for school groups

The outside galleries have a chair and wheelchair lift. The ground floor of the main house has a ramp at the entrance and is wheelchair accessible downstairs. The upstairs of the house is only accessible by a flight of stairs. Once upstairs there are five more steps spread across the space.
