About this activity

North Yorkshire Moors Railway is Britain's most popular Heritage Railway carrying over 300,000 passengers a year. There's railway experience, thrills and family fun as you climb aboard a steam or diesel heritage train on one of the most historic lines.

Experience 24 miles of Yorkshire's amazing scenery! Pickering Station is a 1930's themes station that will transport you back in time! The station is a great place to pick a souvenir or stop and have a tasty snack in the tea room. At the back of the station is Beck Isle Museum where there's lots of history and culture to learn more about.

Levisham station is surrounded by the North Yorkshire Moors and is a 1912 style railway. Goathland Station has a celebrity status as it became Hogsmeade Station in the first Harry Potter film! There's a range of shops and resturants here too as well as a national park where you can have an outdoor adventure.

Grosmont Station is home to the operation and enginnering world of the railway. There are engine sheds and if you head through the tunnel you'll find yourself at the shed shop, you may even see some work taking place on the engines. The station is where the heritage railway ends and the main rail network begins.

Whitby Station is known for it's quirky narrow streets and harbours, take a walk to Whitby Abbey or explore the Captain Cook Memorial Museum.

They have an extensive events calendar too, so make sure to check it out before you visit so you know what's happening when and where!
