Yorks Chocolate Story is a must visit for all chocolate lovers! Join a guided tour through 4000 years of chocolate history and learn the art of the chocolatier and how coach is transformed from bean to bar. 

You'll discover the story behind why Yorkis called the chocolate city and the informative guides will take you through the history.Your journey will begin outside of their replicate Joseph Rowntree and Sons shop and you'll learn how the families helped shape the city. 

You'll learn about the founding families and see how the cocoa bean is transformed into the chocolate today, and you'll even be show how to taste it like a professional! Your tour will finish with a live demonstration from one of their expert chocolatiers with plenty of yummy samples to try! 

There's also an exhibition that tells the story of KitKat. The exhibition uncover the secrets behind the popular chocolate bar and the impact it has had. The exhibition is part of your guided tour too! 

There's also lots of events and activities all year round, and of course plenty of going on over Easter! Make sure to check out the website to see what's happening for an addition to your trip.

Through the story of chocolate they cover subjects related to history, science, and geography.

Guests in wheelchairs are able to access all areas of York’s Chocolate Story that are used for the Guided Tour. A lift is used to access these floors and there is an accessible toilet available.
