Yorkshire Arboretum is 120 acres of peace and relaxation in the heart of North Yorkshire! With a stunning landscape of parks, lakes and ponds, there's more than 7,000 trees from around the world!
On your visit you'll be able to explore the hidden glades and meadows, lets the kids go wild and enjoy some local food in the cafe too. Explore the tree collection at your own pace, or pick up a tree trail amp in the visitor centre. The trail takes around 1 to 2 hours to complete, and you can admire the views along the way!
Not forgetting, there is a red squirrel enclosure too! The squirrels live natural lives and covers 2500m squared of land and is open to the public. Booking is advised as it does get busy! Although Red Squirrels may be seen throughout the day, they tend to be most active in the morning and afternoon.
Every Thursday from March to the end of October one of the friendly, expert guides will be on hand to introduce you to the collection, explain the arboretum's history, and show you the very best of seasonal treasures on a guided tour. They also have a squirrel talk every Tuesday morning.
They have lots of events all year round, so check out the website to see what's happening before you visit!
