Dalby Forest is located in the heart of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and is a great place to escape, relax and explore! There's endless walking, cycling and running trails to enjoy too!
The forest covers 8,500 acres with breath-taking views and trails to explore. For the kids, they will enjoy the Gruffalo Scuptures as you venture into the dark woods. See if you can find them all on your walk round! There's also a Gruffalo orienteering course, Zog trail and mountain biking trails too.
If you want to get your adrenaline pumping then check out the Dalby Activity Centre and try out the Go Ape courses where you'll swing amongst the trees. Age restrictions apply, but it's a great opportunity to have some fun with the family and test your balancing skills!
The forest is home to some internationally important wildlife species and is a designated dark sky discovery site which means you can experience the magic of seeing the milky way with the naked eye. You can book an event on their website to see it up close!
Located in the Dalby Forest Visitor Centre, the Dalby Forest Cafe is the perfect place to refuel and relax after your forest adventure.
Of course there's lots of play areas too for the kids and picnic spots that you can enjoy on a dry sunny day!
Follow the A169 Pickering to Whitby road. Look out for the brown tourist signs.
