About this activity

The Runway Visitor Park is a great day out for the whole family, especially if you love to watch planes take off! It's next to the busy runways of Manchester Ariport, so you'll be so close to the planes flying overhead!

At the park, you'll also see lots of retired planes. These include the supersonic airliner, Concorde G-BOAC, RAF military spy planes and a retro Trident airlines, plus so much more. You'll be able to see what flying was like in the 1960s and see how planes have changed over the years.

At the site, there's a large picnic area too if you wanted to bring some snacks as you watch the planes fly. There's also a coffee house and gift shop that sells a range of plane-related souvenirs for all plane enthusiasts. Check out the play area too as that's a great place for kids to burn off some energy and play!

If you're a school, then they offer lots fo educational experiences for all ages. The interactive tours will get children to take part in boarding a real aircraft, as well as what it takes for the airport to run smoothly. And, you'll also get a chance to go in the pilot's seat which every child loves to do!

There are nursery tours too that last around 1.5 hours. You'll head to the cabin of the aircraft, learn about the nose, tail and wings and take part in some interactive airport-related activities.  There's lots of tours for all ages and groups, so make sure to get in touch with them to book your visit.

There's lots of special events for families throughout the year, particularly on weekends in the Summers! With trampolines, bouncy, castles, treasure hunts and more. Make sure to check out the website before you visit so you know what's happening when and where!
