About this activity

Salford Watersports Centre is based in Salford Quays and is a great if you're looking to try something new or improve techniques, or simply want to get out on the water when the weather is nice! There's lots of activities and courses available for all ages and abilities.

Theres a variety of activities, including open water swimming, sailing and stand-up paddleboarding. Paddleboarding is one of the fastest growin sports and is really popular! It will help increase your core strength, build stamina and help you stay fit.

The centre offers a 60 minutes coaching session for beginners and provides the board for you. It's suitable for over 8 years and you must be accompanied by an adult. There's also lots of other sessions for those who are a bit more experienced too. 

Kayaking is also perfect for beginners who want to try watersports for the first time! It's a small narrow boat that you'll propel through the water using a paddle and it's a great introduction to watersports. 

The centre is also home to Manchester's only System Cable Wake Park! It runs 160m long and get you up to 37kph, great for any ability. The park is great for air tricks too and there's lots of cutting edge obstacle to navigate too. You'll be supported by the qualified coaches all the way too. 

Looking for something to do during the Summer holidays? They have lots of watersports activities and courses. Including sailing, wakeboarding, windsufing and if you can't decide then why not opt for the multi-activity course!

Leave the M60 and join the M602 into Manchester city centre. At the end of the M602, you will come to a major round about and traffic lights. Take the left hand lane and follow the round about ¾ of the way around to Trafford Road (A5063) following signs for Salford Quays. Once you leave the roundabout and are on Trafford Rd, take the first right hand turning onto Broadway (Oasis Academy will be on your left as you turn in). At the next round about take the first exit into Salford Quays.

Salford Watersports Centre FAQ’s

Food and drink vending machines on site. There are places to sit outside to eat pack lunches and picnics. There are also lots of pubs, restaurants and food outlets very close to the centre.

Check the weather forecast in advance or booking closer to the time if you wish to take part during periods of better weather.

They run educational sessions for schools and are flexible to meet your needs.
