Wythenshawe Park Farm offers the opportunity to learn about where food comes from and all of the elements of a working farm in an urban setting. It's free entry too and open seven days a week! 

The farm is a registered charity and was set up in 1984, and is one of the most popular facilities at Wuthenshawe Park. It's right next to the children's play area too and has lots of popular farm animals. Including, cows, sheep, goats, pigs, ducks and more and even a prize-winning herd of Hereford cattle! 

They run a breeding programme which means that baby animals are here regularly! You'll get to meet the animals and watch them feeding. When you visit just ask the staff when feeding time is so you can watch! 

There's a walled garden at the back of the farm which has extra livestock in pens and they grow and sell a range of fruit and vegetables that you can pick up too! 

Fancy becoming a farmer for the day? 

Just ask the farm office when you visit and the staff can talk you through availability! It'll be a great chance for young children to learn more about what it takes to become a farmer and where all the food we eat comes from.
