Beeston Castle is literally walking through out own history books, as you'll be able to learn 4,000 years of history, as well as see a replica Bronze Age roundhouse and of course, enjoy a 40-acre woodland park!
For an amazing view, you can even climb to the top of the castle and peer down into the spiralling well below! In fact, it's one of the deepest castle wells in the whole of England, and apparenty accorindg to legend, it was actually the hiding place of Richard II's lost treasure!
The treasure was thought to be buried here back in 1399, but sadly still remainds missing for centuries despite many attempts to find it.
Also at Beeston Castle is a museum that tells the history of the site, all the way back from the Neolithic period to the Civil War, full of with artefacts!
Spend time wanandering along the winding woodland paths that surround the castle, and keep an eye out for some of the wildlife that live in the area, from foxes to rabbits, bats to buzzards and even peregrine falcons!

You are very welcome to take your own picnic to enjoy in the 40 acres of woodland park surrounding the castle. There are picnic benches and grassed areas, including the Castle Green, to enjoy it!
Beeston Castle is built on a very steep hill, and wheelchair access to the top and the woodland walk is not recommended. Please also note that much of the site has uneven surfaces.
