About this activity

Saltburn Miniature Railway is situated in the North East of England is one of the country's most famous railways! It's a 15 inch gauge railway running from Cat Nab station along the wooded valley beside Skelton Rock.

On your journey you'll pass through grasslands, taking in the stunning scnery and stopping off for a picnic before arriving at Forest Halt Station. You can take a short walk over the bridge which will lead you to the Italian Gardens and Tea Rooms. There are plenty of play areas for the kids to enjoy along the way too!

The length of the track is around 1km and takes around 15 - 20 minutes for the return journey. The trains are operated on an as and when basis and not a strict timetable, so make sure you head down there on the day to see if the trains are running.

They have a variety of resident locomotives, from the Prince Charles to George Outhwaite, Saltburn 150, Blacklock R and many more! They also have visiting locomotives too so make sure to check the website before you visit!
