The Scottish Fisheries Museum is a multi-award winning national museum which tells the story of Scottish fishing from the earliest times to the present. There's fun for all the family with interactive displays, exhibits and lots to learn and discover.
The collections you'll see contain examples of historic fishing boats and gear, and also tells the story of the fishing communities.
There's artefacts from all around the coast of Scotlan and all have their own significance. From historic photos, paintings, knitwear and more, there's lots to see.
They have a boat collection which has 21 vessels used for fishing in Scotland on display.
They regular and changing exhibitions throughout the year. One of which is the exhibition telling the stories of the men and women in Fife who made their living from the sea and theres also special exhibitions of model boats too! The Merchant's Room is a community gallery that hosts montly art exhibitions throughout the year. You'll find a variety of media and subjects on displays, from watercolours, photography, driftwood and much more!
The galleries are all in a group of traditional buildings and are linked together for ease of access and plenty of workshops and activities to keep the family entertained.
Travelling from the West and Forth Bridge - leaving the bridge follow the A90 north onto the M90, exit at junction 2a, merging onto the A92. Take the A921 signed Kirkcaldy East, then follow the A915 through Leven to Upper Largo and onto the A917, the B942 through Colinsburgh and rejoin the A917 signed Pittenweem and Anstruther.
