If you're a lover of donkeys, then the Donkey Sanctuary in Manchester is the perfect place to visit! The centre offers you the chance to meet the donkeys that are being cared for and how the centre looks after them. The donkeys are free to roam and it's their choiceif they want to interact with you, so remember to stay calm and to pet them gently. 

The donkeys on your visit may be grazing in their paddocks, relaxing in the barn or even taking part in some enrichment activities to keep them engaged. The staff will be ready on hand to talk to you about the donkeys and you'll have the chance to see where they live, learn about their care and discover their quirky personalities too!

Remember to ask them your questions and they'll be happy to answer them.

You won't be able to feed the donkeys as they do have special diets. But you can bring in a selection of safe treats for them and the staff will pass them on for you. 

The donkeys will come over to say hello, so you can stroke them. Just be careful as some can be quite shy about having their ears touched, so it's best to strok them on the back or shoulders. Just follow the advice from the staff as they know the donkeys well! 

If you wanted to adopt a donkey, then you can! The centre has some donkeys available for adoption and your money will go to the care of the donkey to make sure it has a happy and fulfilled life at the sanctuary.
