Lancaster Park and Animal Farm is a family run petting farm in Oldham, Greater Manchester and is a fun day out for the whole family. You can meet, touch and even feed the animals on your visit, or enjoy the play areas and a scenic stroll on the Nature Walk. There's lots of things to do at the farm!
The highlight of your trip will be indeed feeding the animals. They love a treat! The bags of food are available for just £1.50. Animals on the farm include tortoises, sheep, rabbits, goats, pigs, donkey's, mice, guinea pigs, chickens and many more. So matter what your favourite farmyard animal is, you'll probably find it here!
There are over 50 species in total with many of them being rescued, and the farm provides a happy environment for them. Head to the petting barn for some petting sessions with the furry animals. The sessions take place at set times throughout the day so just ask them when you visit.
It's not just about the animals too. There's the Rooster Rally where you'll speed along the special track in your own quad bike, a Pirate Shootout where you can test your aim and try and shoot the targets and a Digger Corner where you'll be able to operate your own digger! Just remember to bring some £1.00 coins to use the rides!
If you wanted to stretch your legs then the Nture Walk will lead you through the valley of the River Irk, you may even spot some of the animals along the way! Just remember to bring your wellies if it's wet as it can get rather muddy.
Did you know you can also bath their giant tortoise Tilly? Join them in the Petting Barn on Saturdays and Wednesdays at 1pm to learn more about the tortoise and to get him clean! There's also play areas and picnic areas with sings and slides to burn off some energy too.
