Stump Cross Caverns is one of Britain's premier show caves and you'll step back in time and explore the beauty of the natural show cave. You'll see stunning calcite formations, including the wedding cake and sleeping cat features!
The cave was discovered in 1860 by lead minors and has history going back millions of years. New passageways have been opened up over the years, with remains of prehistoric creatures found in the caves.
The limestock rock you see is the remains of billions of shells and debris and showcases how history has changed over the years.
Explore the natural wonders via lit pathways and is an ideal activity whatever the weather!
Make sure to pick up their educational fossil quiz from the ticket both and see what you can spot on the ways! There's also a fairy door trail along the passageways too, so try to seek out the fairies on your visit.
The cave is a natural cavern system and is damp and uneven underfoot, so take care when visiting. There's lots of formations to explore so the visit takes around 40 - 50 minutes.
The caving experts have also mapped and captured the caverns in 3D so you can explore virtually online if you can't make it to the location itself!
