Craven Museum and Gallery has over 60,000 objects, that represent millions of years of Craven history. You'll find rare books, rocks, photos, art and much more that will allow you to connect with local characters and landscapes from the past. 

On your visit you'll see the First Folio of Shakespeare's plays that wasprinted all the way back in 1623. You'll see rare items from prehistoric and Roman times and explore the limestone caves of Craven. 

Imagine what life was like to live in Skipton during the Victorian era and hear the stories of Craven people. 

If you've ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at Craven Museum, you can now book a tour to see how they look after the collections.

The tours happened on the first Wednesday of each month and you'll explore the art, textiles, clocks and rocks with the help of their friendly museum team. 

For schools and families, there are plenty of learning opportunities. 

They offer discovery boxes to help enhance the learning and each box centre around a themem and contains instructions on handling the museum objects safely. 

There's also a programme of family-friendly activities through the year, including craft sessions where you can take your creation home.
