About this activity

High Adventure is a busy, Yorkshire based Outdoor Education Centre. We have been providing quality adventurous activities to our clients for 23 years, all our intsructors are full time professionals and we boast some fantastic on-site facilities.

Families can now book activities with us on the weekend, here's some you can choose from:

Caving (in the longest artificial cave in the UK)

High Adventure has one of the best, if not the best, artificial caving system in the UK giving you the chance for a unique, challenging, safe and fun experience.

Most people's quite rational fear of 'caving' is getting stuck or having an obstacle too difficult for them, but as it’s an artificial cave there are plenty of exit points, so if you don’t fancy one of the challenges along the way then it’s easy to opt out and re-join the group further on.

It’s a fantastic activity for families and groups of friends who fancy something unique and physically challenging that you do together as a team, everyone is active all the time!
On arrival we will kit you out in full Caving gear (oversuit/wellies/helmet and light) and lead you through an epic adventure. There’s mud and water in the system so you will need a change of clothes for after – Good luck!!

Canoe and Giant SUP's

A fantastic wet session filled with fun and new skills!

On arrival you will be kitted out with a buoyancy, helmet and paddle then as a team we get the equipment down to the water's edge ready for your session.
We use Canadian canoes rafted together to form a very stable catamaran to allow you to get straight on the water without worrying about getting soaked right at the beginning of the session. When you have picked up the skills to manoeuvre your craft we’ll introduce some fun games, challenges and of course races!

Our giant stand up paddle boards are a proper laugh, it will of course be everyone else not paddling in time or rocking the board, never you!!

While you can stay dry, if you wish, during the canoe-rafts session there is a greater chance of 'going in' in this session but that's all part of the fun.
There are changing facilities on-site so don't forget your towel and change of clothes.

Aerial Adventure

Challenge yourself on three separate aerial activities at our purpose built facility:

ZIP LINE • A supervised climb to the platform and attachment to the line makes this a great activity for everyone. Zip down the line in one long photo opportunity.
LEAP OF FAITH • After climbing a pole (with a safety line of course!) you stand on a wooden platform and make your 'Leap of Faith' for a trapeze bar. The great thing about this activity is that we can move the bar as close as you like or as far away as you dare!
ABSEIL • You will first need to scale the ladder in our purpose built climbing wall to get to the access platform to allow you to Abseil, like a pro, down the outside of the building. All the activities are run by professional instructors at a professional Outdoor Education Centre.

We also do Archery, Axe throwing and Bushcraft. Check out our website for full details

Our core-business is working with schools to provide educational residential visits.

We do our very best to accommodate everyone but the nature of our activities and our site does make it difficult for those with poor mobility though the coffee lounge and toilet facilities are wheelchair friendly.
