Springfield Park Model Railway is a great day out for any train lovers! You'll be able to jump aboard the minature steam railway every Sunday afternoon, weather permitting, which will delight all train enthusiasts.
The track was completed and opened to the public in 1960 and has a current length of 604 metres in total! As well as the train you'll find a children's play area complete with all the traditional outdoor play equipment for the kids to run around and burn off some energy.
You'll also find the largest park in the area, with open landscapes and wooded slopes down to the Roch Valley. Here, you'll be able to play hide and seek, tag or why not bring a ball for a kick about? It's a great place to go on a Sunday afternoon when the weather is nice. You can even bring a picnic and sit back and relax with the family.
The track is only available weather permitting every Sunday afternoon and are open to the public. They also have many different locomotives running throughout the year, so you can visit with your family to discove everything behind a hand built model. Make sure you ask the staff any questions you have too as they'll be able to tell you more about the world of model engineering.
