About this activity

Castle Ward is a fascinating 18th-century mansion waiting for you to visit on your next family day out! Not only is Castle Ward famous for its mixture of architectural styles (so make sure you take your camera, it's pretty impressive!) but it's also the backdrop of Winterfell in HBO's amazing series "Game of Thrones"!

So you might already know what to expect!

During your time at Castle Ward, you can marvel at the gothic and classical collide resting on a rolling hillside, and peering out over the beautiful waters of Strangford Lough.

Spend some time outdoors as you take a walk or enjoy a cycle along the Lough trail and sheltered woodlands. Kids, keep an eye out for butterflies, rabbits, ducks and swans!

Kids also love stepping into a fantasy world of dragons and castles and dragons as they take in the Georgian farmyard along with filming locations for that famous series "Game of Thrones" we mentioned.

Spend time in the sunken newly restored Victorian garden, before rounding the day off at the tea-room or gift shop!

Don't miss a chance for kids to also visit the Woodland and Adventure playpark - open daily!
