Wallace Park in Ulster is the perfect place for a fun and memorable family day out. The park provides a green oasis in an otherwise urban landscape and is often busy with visiting dog walkers, families, cyclists and workers! The many mature trees around the park have lots of cracks and crevices in the bark for small birds to nest and bats to roost. The large areas of grassland shelter a range of worms, caterpillars and other invertebrates upon which many of the park's resident birds - Rook, Jackdaw, Magpie, Pied Wagtail and Robin for example - all feed! A small pond also attracts Mallard and Black-headed Gulls. So why not head there, take in the amazing views, and see what wonderful wildlife you can spot?
Located in the heart of Lisburn and covering 25 acres of mature parkland, Wallace Park is ideal for families with a children's play area and lots of gentle walks and space to play. As if all this wasn't fun enough, check out their foot ball pitches and the duck pond.
Turn right onto Laganbank Rd/A1, use the left 2 lanes to turn slightly left onto Linenhall St/A1, turn left onto Wallace Ave, and then follow the signs.
