About Exploris

Exploris in Ulster is the perfect place for a family day out! This award-winning aquarium is one of Northern Ireland's premier attractions and is one of the most important marine sites in Europe. The main philosophy of the sanctuary is to rehabilitate sick, injured or abandoned seal pups. As the seal pupping is seasonal, it means at certain periods, they have no seals in their hospital! Why not head down and see if you can spot any seals?

As well as this, you'll find fantastically named sealife such as a Featherstar, Peacock Worm, the Starry Smoothound, Velvet Swimming Crab and Tompot Blenny to name a few. There are daily touch tank sessions so you can get really close to ther underwater friends and it hosts one of the largest open sea tanks in the UK. There are changing marine exhibitions and other activities and displays for everyone.

Between the literal tons of herring they eat, life-saving medication, specialist equipment, you can support the important work of Exploris Seal Sanctuary by adopting a pup today and helping fun their work! Adopt for yourself, as a gift for someone else, or even as a school class. You won’t get to take a seal home but they will send you a bundle of great rewards!
